"Small Dogs with Big Hearts".....

I recently joined a group on Meet Ups (a great site I discovered quite accidently) called Small Dogs with Big Hearts. This woman started it a short distance from here.

She has 5 acres for the dogs to romp in and if the weather is bad, she has a big room where we can all go indoors and play. I have not been able to make it to a meeting yet, however I do intend to. It looks like GREAT fun. Last week's meeting's theme was "Dress to Impress". She took pics of all the little dogs in their dress up clothes. What a riot!

People bring picnic items to snack on and treats for the dogs. This week we are supposed to bring our favorite recipe for home made dog snacks....

She has ideas for teaching the dogs tricks and having trials just for fun. Petey needs the socialization as he never sees anyone but Steve, my roomate and I. I am a bit nervous about what he would do.....but still think it is a great idea.

I wrote another short poem about him today....

We Wax By the Light of the Moon

Cute little dog,
My sweet little prince.
Pouncing on everything in sight!
He races and zips,
Happily in bliss,
As we carry on through the night.

A night owl like me,
And with roommate makes three,
We wax while others are waning.
The night welcomes us, to finish odds and ends,
While the sun comes up on our tired eyes.

Daylight arrives and we give in to slumber.
The world awakens and passes us by.
Till the darkness descends once again,
And we wax to the moon's shining face.
